Ms. Boyer with Commander, Col. Christopher G. Cavoli
Desert View Middle School, a member school of the Ysleta Independent School District public school system in El Paso, contracted Ms. Myrna Boyer and the Women's Personal Defense Center for mother/daughter Personal Defense Workshops. The events were held April 25th, 2009.
While life certainly seems to hold no guarantees for the personal welfare and safety of ourselves and our children, there are sensible safeguards we can all take. As the old saying goes, "God helps those who help themselves." Please consider attending one of our Women's Personal Defense (WPD) Workshops with your teen daughters (ages 12 and older).
We also offer several programs which are, in most cases, free of charge for children, ages 5—12. Click here for more information.
Ms. Myrna Boyer was invited to speak at the League of United Latin American Citizens' Annual Women's Conference as one of its six guest panelists.
The Conference, which was held on Saturday, March 28th, 2009, brought together leading Hispanic women from the El Paso area and surrounding communities in a unified voice to discuss a wide range of issues that bear ultimate importance to women of all ages, from health matters to legal concerns to domestic violence.
Ms. Boyer's topic was, appropriately, Self Confidence & Inner Strength, and was well received both by the general public and the organizers of the 3rd annual event.
Ms. Myrna Boyer accepted an invitation from Radio KAMA (97.5 AM) talk show host, Israel (Gallo) Tenna to speak on issues of violence against women and the work of the Women's Personal Defense Center. Sifu Boyer broached subjects such as domestic violence, the role of mindset in the matter of personal defense, teens and dating violence, and proper training for women of all ages. The program aired on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009 in the 3-5 p.m. time slot.
